[Manuscript]  Apprenticeship indenture, 1832.  Alfred Carr, son of Sarah Carr, of East Street, Brighton, widow, is put apprentice for the term of 6 years to George Dash, of Duke Street, Brighton, tailor.  Manuscript on a standard printed form.  The apprentice has to agree inter alia not to commit fornication nor contract matrimony within the term, nor play at cards or dice tables, nor haunt taverns or playhouses.  Bearing  three red wax seals and one blue revenue stamp.  One witness.  Written on a single sheet of parchment, in good condition; has been folded.  £35.00

[Manuscript]  Will of Richard Weller, of Salehurst, gentleman, made 28th June 1738.  He leaves five pounds to be distributed among the poor of the parish of Salehurst.  Others receiving bequests include his wife, his nephew Richard Weller, of Battle, sister Susanna May, cousins Charles Hook and Richard Hook, Elizabeth Hider, of Hawkhurst, and his kinsmen Richard May, of Tunbridge, and John Benden.  Property mentioned includes copyhold land called Salehurst Meadows, two pieces of land at Winchelsea, and a silver spoon (an heirloom?) marked “FNRW”, which he leaves to his brother, Francis Weller.  This appears to be a draft copy of the will, and a note at the bottom says it was proved at Lewes, 9th October 1739.  4to.  2 sheets on paper, a little torn at edges and slightly stained. £12.00
